The course is based in one of ActiveEarth’s wild and beautiful locations such as Loch Tay in Scotland, the Spanish Pyrenees or,

in winter, the French Alps. Participants will spend inspirational time in the surrounding forests and mountains, combined with theory sessions in the comfort of our luxurious ‘tipi camp’ or in a mountain lodge.
 

The first day will be spent slowing down and getting into the natural pace of the area. We explore the theme ‘Meeting Needs’ through personal reflection and look at psychological concepts regarding our needs. We will also develop a series of interpersonal techniques for clear and open

communication. It will be a day to become more self-aware, to get to know each other and to strengthen relationships.
 

The second day we develop the theme of ‘Interconnection’ through a series of activities. We will explore some contemporary ideas about perception, uncovering culturally embedded ideas that limit our ability to deal with the challenges of modern living. We then discover practices that enable us to respond to difficult and

complex issues creatively.
 

The third day, with a theme of ‘Self as ecology’, is reserved for personal reflection and for revitalising our connection to Earth through a morning wilderness ‘solo’. The afternoon is spent learning an advanced group communication technique that strengthens group coherence.

The theme for day four is ‘Making Meaning’, placing insights from the previous days firmly into the corporate context. Creative dialogue will pull-together the course content, raise

participants’ sense of belonging with their organisation’s values, and sustain their ability for positive action in the workplace.
