Our base in this area of France is a beautiful bastide in the heart of Barjols, a typical provencal village. The life and architecture of the village have been determined for centuries by the omnipresence of water. There are forty-two fountains and lavoirs in the village, and four rivers running through it. The location is in the region the Verdon gorges, the Lake of St.Croix, the Saint Victoire Mountain, the Calanques and the Cote d’Azur. The climate is superb with blue skies and sunshine throughout the year.
The bastide, one of the most historically important buildings in the village, is currently in restoration and will be operational from March 2009. It is being restored with original methods and materials preserving its authentic feel, whilst offering modern comfort and tranquility. The property will provide space for groups and conference areas for business meetings. |
